Pregame footage from May 20, 2007. Peanuts manager Wally Backman recounts a story about Phillip Wellman to Doc Brooks, Johnny Washington, Larry Olenberger and Peanuts broadcaster Matt Pauley.

The story took place in the Southern League (AA) - when Wellman managed the Chattanooga Lookouts and Backman managed the Birmingham Barons. Wellman went on to manage in the Braves organization and was involved in a highly publicized ejection in 2007 that led to a 3-game suspension.

Meet the Peanuts - Mike Caruso

An introductory interview with South Georgia Peanuts 3B Mike Caruso. This interview was conducted shortly after Caruso joined the Peanuts in mid-season.

Caruso was a former 2nd round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants. He was traded from San Francisco to the Chicago White Sox as part of the infamous "White Flag Trade." Caruso started at SS for the White Sox in 1998 and 1999. He finished third in the 1998 Rookie of the Year voting.
